Apple’s AirPods and AirPods Pro are selling very well, prompting Apple to demand the supply chain to increase production of these two earphones.
According to the Nikkei Asian Review, Apple has sent a notice to the manufacturers and its supply chain with the request to increase production of both wireless headphones. AirPods Pro alone is required to double production.
Luxshare-ICT, the company in charge of producing AirPods Pro with factories in China, is required to increase production from 1 million units to 2 million units per month.
The regular AirPods with wireless charging cases assembled by GoerTek at factories in Vietnam, are also required by Apple to increase production, although the increase is lower than that of AirPods Pro.
Wireless headsets are currently Apple’s fastest growing product. Analysts predict that Apple may have sales of 200 million units annually.

Earlier this month, a Bloomberg report said that Apple will reach 60 million units by the end of 2019 thanks to the explosion of AirPods Pro.
AirPods sales could reach 80 million units by early 2020.
AirPods Pro is currently on sale for $ 249 with new features like active noise cancellation and a battery life of up to 30 days. AirPods cost $ 159.
